Revitalizing a historic landmark into Rush County's hospitality & event destination
The historic Milroy High School at 215 N Pleasant St is being restored in phases into The MilroyTM Wellness and Event Center.
The Project
The historic Milroy High School has stood vacant for years despite its prominent location and remarkable architecture. While structurally sound, the building continues to deteriorate. Rather than allowing another historic landmark to decline, this redevelopment will transform the property into a boutique hospitality destination that preserves local heritage while creating a long-term economic engine for the region.
The completed destination will feature approximately 30 boutique hotel rooms, 20 hostel-style accommodations, a full-service café, flexible meeting and conference facilities, a restored historic theater, wellness amenities, and a large event center capable of hosting weddings, corporate retreats, community events, and regional tourism activities.
Construction is planned in phases so portions of the facility can open before full project completion. The project will create permanent employment in hospitality, food service, event management, maintenance, and administration while stimulating investment throughout Milroy and Rush County.
